Welcome to Highfield Primary School. My name is Stuart Wilcox and I am proud to be the Principal of our school.
Highfield School is a full primary school with a current roll of 300 children. As our roll has been growing the Ministry of Education has put in place an enrolment scheme. There is further information regarding this under the Enrolment Zone page on the website.
I want everyone at Highfield to feel safe and be happy.
Highfield will be a home away from home, where we will learn to live together and accept, embrace and celebrate our differences.
Highfield learners will be optimistic and have an important appreciation for challenge - mistakes become part of our everyday lives and we install resilience and a growth mindset into our way of thinking. Therefore we become solution focused and use innovation, creativity and collaboration to help solve these problems.
Highfield will give students a range of opportunities and possibilities - so that they can be motivated to build their own high expectations and be excited about their future pathway and successes.
Students will be taught how to be good listeners, learners, thinkers and eventual leaders.
Through a close connection with our community we will create an honest, respectful and fun culture where we will all have opportunities to flourish and thrive.
I would like to finish on a Maori Whakatauki (proverb)
He Aroha whakato, he aroha puta mai
If kindness is sown, kindness you shall receive
